Morning page

The short page that aims a day: what is due today, what waits on you, and what you promised this week. Nothing longer.

Three lines. No news, no suggestions, no ideas an agent had overnight. With no agent, a person writes the same three lines themselves at the top of the day's page, and the practice is complete.

It is load-bearing because the day is where all of it actually happens, and a day that is never aimed goes into errands and messages. Five minutes at the start — a minute of arriving before the phone, the compass question, a look at what you promised, one to three real things chosen with at least one serving the Quest — and the day has a direction. An hour on aim repays ten of wandering.

The discipline is the shortness. A morning page that becomes a briefing eats the morning it was meant to aim. What belongs on it is only what waits on you and what you owe; everything else is what you will do if the day is kind.

A Player+ pairs it with the other end of the day: a record filled before sleep, one line on what was learned, and tomorrow's first thing written where their eyes land on waking. The week then gathers itself from seven filled days rather than from memory, and the weekly Turn takes an hour instead of an evening of remembering.

Where an agent prepares it, two things need care. If it cannot tell the hour, it is told. And what a person records about their time, energy, attention, body or home is theirs, and goes nowhere without their word.
