Ring 3 - The Living Proof

The evidence ring: eight movements across fifteen hundred years that independently discovered the same DNA, and the places where it is running now.

This is the ring for the reader who says show me. Its content is not argument but record: Mondragon — seven decades, tens of thousands of worker-owners, told with its wounds rather than as a legend; the FairShares Commons lineage as structural DNA for a regenerative economy; and the production-system research proving the delivery half of the pattern across very large programmes. Behind those, the eight lineages in which the Core Pattern was independently found.

It is load-bearing because the corpus makes an empirical claim and has to be answerable for it. The twelve elements are presented not as a design but as a discovery — the thing that keeps appearing wherever people cooperate successfully at scale across generations. A claim of that shape lives or dies on cases, and the ring exists so that the cases are in the open, including the parts that do not flatter. That a cooperative federation's lenders were made whole before its worker-owners when a member firm failed is part of the proof, not an embarrassment kept out of it.

It is also the ring that most protects against the movement's own romance. Living proof means proof that is alive — still running, still imperfect, still solving. Nothing here is offered as a finished model to copy. Instantiation is always honestly compromised; what transfers is the pattern, not the instance.

In the Game its use is at the door and in the hard season. At the door it answers the reasonable question of whether any of this has ever worked. In the hard season it answers a different one: whether it has ever been this difficult for anyone else. Both answers are yes, and both are worth having in writing.
