The Cosmic Story
The Story told at the widest register: Earth's chapter as one chapter among many, in a cosmos that has been running this arc for a very long time.
The claim is structural before it is exotic. If the Pattern is holofractal, then the arc a person walks, a Circle walks, and a world walks is one arc at different scales — and there is no reason for the series to stop at a planet. The Cosmic Story is The Sacred Arc read at the scale above the species: many worlds, many peoples, the same forgetting, the same long night, the same whisper, the same crossing. Earth's fall was deeper and longer than most; the telling is explicit that this world is not the centre of the account but one of its chapters.
It is load-bearing chiefly for perspective and humility. It relativises the present emergency without diminishing it — what is happening here has happened elsewhere, which means both that it is survivable and that no one here is improvising from nothing. It also underwrites the corpus's posture toward whatever else is out there: Cosmos Is Not Human-Centric, and a wider field is assumed to contain the same full spectrum from wisdom to predation that humanity contains, which is why Discerning Between Benevolent And Malevolent Intelligences is named as a discipline rather than an enthusiasm.
It should be read with the corpus's own caution attached. Of the particulars of the long night the telling says little and holds even that little loosely; what matters is the reunion occurring here and now. The cosmic register is the part of the corpus most exposed to assertion without evidence, and it is cited here as draft and ore: a frame offered, not a history established. We Do Not Know is the operative discipline, and saying so out loud is the practice.
In the Game almost nothing depends on it. A Cell can play a full season, choose real Quests, keep its word, and pass the Flame without ever touching this register — and that is by design. The cosmic frame is offered to those for whom it opens something, and never required of anyone.
