The Warrior's Intermittent Fasting Protocol

A four-tier cadence of fasting and feeding — daily, weekly, seasonal, initiatory — held as a rhythm of alignment rather than as a diet.

The four tiers are the carryable part. A daily rhythm: a bounded feeding window in the lighter part of the day, closed well before sleep so that the night's rest and dream work proceed undisturbed, with the rest of the day unfed. A weekly longer fast, taken on a rest day or alongside a day of deeper practice. A seasonal deeper fast of several days, once a season, anchored to the turning points of the year and held with quiet and reflection. And an initiatory fast, longer still, undertaken rarely and at thresholds (Fasting, The LIØNSBERG Calendar, Season).

The canon's framing is what distinguishes this from a regimen. Fasting is freedom — it breaks the reflex of constant consumption. Feeding is fuel — eating is intentional, for regeneration and service rather than for escape. Ritual is alignment — both the fast and the meal are consecrated with attention and gratitude. Adaptation is essential — the cadence is tuned to the person, the season, and the load, and the source says so of itself (Nutrition, Discipline, Rest And Regeneration).

Around it sit the ordinary disciplines it belongs to: sleep long enough to restore, train in the fasted part of the day and eat after, and refuse what harms — the processed, the depleting, the purchased from systems the body is trying to leave (Sleeping, The Daily Way, Wellness).

Two honesties belong on the page rather than in a footnote. The extended and initiatory fasts are the part where harm is actually possible, and the source carries them with only a passing mention of support. They are not for a person alone, they are not for every body, and nothing here is guidance for anyone's particular constitution or condition. And the physiological claims the source attaches to the practice are asserted without evidence and are not carried here; what is carried is the cadence and its reasons (We Do Not Know, Safety check).
