Transcendence

That which goes beyond all categories and forms — the truths that surpass the limitations of the manifest.

Transcendence and Immanence are a pair, and the canon refuses to choose between them. ØNE is beyond every category and present within all things. Holding both is what keeps the metaphysics from collapsing into either a distant deity who has left the world to itself or a world that is simply identical with the divine and therefore beyond criticism.

The transcendent half does specific work. It is what makes Do Not Concretize the Absolute a requirement rather than a preference: if ØNE goes beyond all categories, then any category that claims to contain ØNE has already gone wrong. The Ineffable is the discipline of leaving the silence intact; Essences, Renderings, And Ineffable Referents is the same discipline applied to every definition in the Lexicon; Mystery is what remains when the honest limits are respected. Every one of these is a brake on the natural motion of a system with many words — the motion toward believing the words are the thing.

It is also what gives the Meta move its meaning. At the top of every holarchy — of goals, ideals, values, categories — stands its Meta level, ultimately ineffable, where the category rejoins ØNE. Stepping up a level is not an escape from specifics; it is the acknowledgement that the specifics were always renderings.

In play it appears as a discipline of speech rather than a doctrine: nothing here is called canonical or final, a draft is cited as a draft, and the top rung is held with the most open hands of all.
