Establishing Your Cellular Operating System and Way

A Cell writing down how it actually runs — its own operating layer, in its own words.

The shared parts of the Game are few: the same card shape, the same week and turnings, the same words on line one, an address for every line, the same numbers, proposals by edition, and a word given kept or a gap learned from (Minimum standards of interoperability). Everything else is the Cell's own, and writing it down is what makes a body able to be handed on rather than re-improvised every season (The LIØNSBERG Operating System).

What is written is small: when and where the Turn happens and who hosts it this season; how a decision is made and what to do when consent is not reached; who keeps the record and where it lives; what crosses the membrane and by whose say-so; how a newcomer joins and how someone leaves; and what the Cell has agreed about money and the Offering (Field of Agreements, Consent-Based Decision-Making, Guard the Membrane, Roles).

The first season is the writing of it. Read the book together; write the intent, the vision, and the agreements; name the hosts and the keeper; then run the weeks and let the way be corrected by what actually happens (The first season, The Intent, Vision). What is written is current best understanding and nothing more — improved at every turning by proposal, never treated as final (Current Best Understanding, Proposal, Continuous Improvement).

Two failure modes bracket the work: a Cell with no written way, which cannot survive a change of hosts; and a Cell whose way has become its subject, spending on its own constitution the hours its Quest needed (Spirit Precedes Pattern).
