The Vision only grows

The shared Vision sits in the middle of the Board and is never pruned. No one's dream is removed; we weave a bigger bouquet.

One sentence, and it is the rule that makes a shared Vision safe to contribute to.

Ordinarily, a shared vision is a scarce thing. Adding to it means competing for room in it, and someone with standing eventually trims it back to what seems achievable — at which point the people whose dreams were trimmed stop offering and start negotiating. The trimming looks like discipline and behaves like an eviction. Once a body has pruned a vision twice, no one brings their real one to it again.

This rule removes the scarcity at the root. The Vision is not a plan and does not have to be affordable. Contributions are woven together rather than ranked, so bringing yours costs no one else anything, and a body of a thousand can hold a thousand dreams without any of them needing to be reconciled.

The scarcity is handled elsewhere, and this is why the rule does not produce chaos. The Quest is where finiteness lives: three to seven undertakings a season, each owned, each finishable, chosen by Consent against the far light — and the discipline of choosing what not to do this season is exercised there, hard, every ninety days. Prune the season, never the Vision. Keeping the two apart is what lets a body be ferociously selective about its work while remaining entirely open about what it is for.

It sits at the centre of The Board for the same reason: the why is what a thousand sovereign Circles share, and it is the only thing that has to be held in common for all their different work to be one Game.
