The names of the interface's parts
One short list of plain words, each naming one thing a hand can point at, so that what a Player saw can be said exactly.
The rail is the column down one side, always there, and the way to every panel. A rail item is one entry on it; a badge is the small count beside that entry saying how many things there need you. The foot of the rail carries the name — who you are in the Game, which every action you take carries with it.
A panel is one section of the main area. Its panel head is its title line, with the few actions that belong to the whole panel. Inside a panel sits a row: one item — a ruling, a reply, a sighting, a conversation, a commitment, a card — acted on where it is. A pill is a small word on a row saying its state or its kind. A tile is a big number with a caption: days remaining, minutes on a chain, commitments overdue. A form is where you write.
Beneath all of it: the deck is every piece of work as a card, and every panel that shows work is a sort of the deck. A card is one piece of work with its record and its thread. A thread is a conversation anchored to a card, a page, or to nothing at all. A Sighting is what you saw on the road, handed in from the panel head where you saw it.
No word here is coined and none is clever. That is the point: the list is taught on the surface itself, and it is short enough that a person can hold the whole of it after one reading. A vocabulary a Player must study is a wall (A Word on Words).
