Weave Spirit, Hearts, and Minds
Move two: coherence before action. A Circle that has not become one will not choose well.
This is the move most groups skip and most groups later wish they had not. Between gathering the people and picking the work, a body has to become one body: spirit, so that the ØNE the work serves is shared and not assumed; hearts, so that the people trust each other with the truth; minds, so that the picture of where you are and where you are going is actually the same picture in each head.
It is load-bearing because coherence is what the later moves spend. A Quest chosen by a Circle that has not woven will be chosen by the loudest voice. A gap reported honestly in week five requires trust built in week one. Circle Coherence names the condition; this move is how a body reaches it, and reaches it again after it is lost.
How it is played. Spirit first: silence together, the Three Supreme Agreements said plainly, or whatever form your table's traditions give to what is above the work. Hearts: each person says why they are here and what they are carrying — this is what Check In becomes when it is done in earnest. Minds: craft the shared picture, asking each member how would you like the world to be?, and write down, in a few honest lines, where the body actually is. Dialogos and Listening are the instruments; Speaking Truth In Love is the discipline. The weave is not a one-time ceremony — it is repeated at every turning and after every rupture, and it is what Mend a Tension restores.
