Celebration
Joy expressed together — not a reward for finished work but a move in the Game, and one of the moves a body most often skips.
Celebration is the deliberate marking of what is good: a Quest completed, a season survived, a person's threshold crossed, a day that simply deserves it. It restores community and morale, which is a plain functional claim and not a sentimental one. Joy is not an escape from reality but a way into its fullness, and a people that has lost its capacity for it has lost strength, not merely pleasure.
It is load-bearing because it is a named move, not an optional garnish. Celebrate, Learn, and Improve is the fifth of the seven moves, and it comes before the telling and the passing. A body that runs the other moves and drops this one develops a characteristic disease: everything that is finished immediately becomes the past, nothing is ever enough, and the people burn out while the record shows steady progress. Celebrating first is also what makes honest retrospection possible — a body that has acknowledged what was real is far better at naming what was not.
In the Game, celebration is small and scheduled. The Turn opens with the good news before the problems: headlines, births, breakthroughs, gratitude, because a body that only ever meets about problems forgets why it gathers. It closes in gratitude. At the turnings, the season's work is honoured — genuinely, with recognition of real work done by real people, not with false praise — and many Circles make a meal of it. At a Community scale the turnings become the largest gatherings of the year, the ones that make a people a people. In the System, the same move is the acknowledgment inside a retrospective: what worked, named before what did not.
Its larger form is Festival, and its largest is the one the Plan points toward: a Jubilee at which debts are released and the crossing is marked. That day is written in the Timeline as a draft and nowhere as a liturgy.
