Convergent Streams of Discovery

The answer to "where does this come from?" — not from one place, one tradition, or one mind, but from several that arrived at the same shape independently. Convergence is the evidence.

The Pattern here is a confluence. Among the streams it names: a cooperative federation in the Basque country that grew from one small workshop into tens of thousands of worker-owners, anchored by a pedagogy of trust (Mondragon); an articulation of ownership designed to prevent enclosure (The asset lock, Commons); a participatory form distilled from decades of practice (The Great Game); a delivery discipline built out of lean construction, integrated project delivery and the theory of constraints, and turned on a civilisation (Integrated Project Delivery, Theory Of Constraints, The Program Delivery Guide); and the long empirical roster of bodies that held for centuries under wildly different banners — monastic orders, cooperatives, recovery fellowships, confederacies, the first house gatherings, open source (Lineage, ReHarvesting the Great Traditions).

The point is not the list and not its length. The point is that independent arrival is evidence. When streams that never met land on the same shape, the shape is more plausibly found than invented — which is the corpus's reason for calling the Pattern discovered rather than authored (Pattern, Empirical Resonance, The Pattern That Works).

Two obligations follow, and they are the reason this belongs in a field of concepts rather than in a preface. Nothing here claims originality: each stream is a witness, none is the owner, and the synthesis adds no ego to the inheritance (Attribution, Honoring Lineage Without Lineage-Capture, Truth To ØNE, Errors To Us). And the list stays open — indigenous lineages, contemplative traditions, and the practical orders that built schools and abbeys across centuries belong in it and are named as still to be gathered (Work In Progress, We Have Heard).

The honest caution is the one convergence arguments always need: streams can converge because a later reader selected the ones that agreed. What would make this strong rather than flattering is naming the streams that do not converge, and the corpus does not yet do that (Second reader, Navigating Towards Truth).
