Orientation and Onboarding Process
How someone who has just arrived is brought up to speed: greeted first, given the next thing they need, and never handed the whole library at the door.
Orientation answers four questions in order — where am I, what is this for, who is here, and what is mine to do next — and then stops. A newcomer does not need the corpus; they need the one thing that makes their first week possible. A whole curriculum at the door is a wall; one lesson when you are about to need it is a door. Greeting comes before giving: a person is welcomed by a person, not by a document.
It is load-bearing because a body's capacity to grow is exactly its capacity to onboard. A Cell that cannot bring a new member up to speed stops at its founders however good its Quest is, and a movement that spreads faster than it orients produces confusion at scale. It is also where the language is handed over: twelve words are enough to play, each given once in a line, with the rest handed where the road meets them.
The office is named. The Guide greets, orients and hands the words, serving each person's next stretch in the zone of optimum development — never overwhelming, never under-challenging. The canon's own onboarding is thin and says so, pointing at a guide, a starting point and a first frame while promising more; the honest practice in the meantime is a person, an hour, and the next lesson.
