Welcome a Newcomer

How someone joins a Cell that has already been sealed.

Someone is paired with them for the first weeks — a companion who answers the questions people do not ask in a room (Sponsorship). They are walked through the Story and the Game rather than handed a library; a whole curriculum at the door is a wall, one thing when you are about to need it is a door (Story, The Great Game of LIØNSBERG, Just in time). And they are brought into the agreements by consent: the terms are read, and their yes is given in their own words, where others can hear it (Field of Agreements, Consent, The Pledge).

The reason to make this a named move is that the sealing changed the body's shape. The people who sealed it built their trust together; a newcomer arrives after that and can be, without anyone intending it, permanently a guest. Naming the welcome makes membership — not attendance — the outcome (Belonging, Seal the Circle).

Greeting is an office before it is a courtesy. A person is greeted before they are given anything, and whoever holds that office serves the next stretch of their path, never overwhelming and never under-challenging (Guide, The Zone Of Optimum Development, Orientation and Onboarding Process). The welcome that goes wider — to the stranger and the displaced arriving as the old world comes apart — is named in the canon as a gap not yet closed (Welcoming The Stranger).
