The Involution and Evolution
A mechanism under the ascent: Spirit descends into form by veiling itself, so that form can wake back up into Spirit — carrying everything the descent learned.
Two arcs, one motion. On the descending arc, the undifferentiated pours downward through stages of veiling: what knows directly hides itself in thought, thought hides itself in life, life hides itself in matter, until at the densest point the origin appears as sheer unconsciousness. That apparent emptiness is not empty; it is the origin at maximum veiling, with everything already planted in it. On the ascending arc the seed unfolds: matter waking to itself becomes life, life waking to itself becomes mind, mind waking to itself opens onto what knows by identity rather than by inference — and that, waking, returns, enriched by the whole journey out (Emanation, The Veil of Finitude and Forgetting, Sachchidananda).
The reason to carry it is that without a mechanism The Sacred Ascent is a hope. With one, it has a direction and a reason: rising is not an improbable accident but a return, which is why the corpus can speak of an anti-entropic pull without embarrassment (The Entropic and Anti-Entropic Forces, Becoming).
Three consequences do real work. Rising is not random — complexity, consciousness and coherence increase because something is coming back, not because chance found a groove. The destination is not escape — the arc ends in matter transformed rather than abandoned, which is exactly what Heaven On Earth names and why this corpus builds rather than withdraws. And it supplies the missing under-story for its neighbours: Consciousness Is Primary gets its why — matter is consciousness at maximum veiling, unveiling; Spirit Precedes Pattern gets its why — pattern is the form Spirit takes on the way back up.
The lineage is honest and worth naming: this is one philosopher's articulation, resonant with older tellings — contraction and repair, fall and restoration, manifestation and return — and it is held as a reading of reality that is coherent and unproven, not as a finding (We Do Not Know, Current Best Understanding, ReHarvesting the Great Traditions).
