Faith
The trustful and faithful orientation of the soul toward ØNE.
Faith here is orientation, not assent. The Lexicon's phrasing is deliberate — trustful and faithful, a direction a soul faces rather than a set of propositions it accepts. The Pillar's sixth thesis makes the same move for Theology: true theology is direct and experiential, born of communion rather than belief, doctrine, or dogma. Nothing in this Field asks a player to affirm anything at the door.
Its second sense is the one the Game runs on: faithfulness. A word given is a word kept, or a gap learned from, without blame. Commitment is defined as I will ___ by ___, said aloud at the table, and a WILL is a person's word consciously given, never inferred. Kept as a share of made is the number a body keeps about itself. Networks of Commitments is the eleventh of the Twelve Irreducible Elements. The canon's own arithmetic of the spread assumes faithfulness and nothing else: one hundred forty-four Circles passing faithfully reach a quarter of a billion within nine months.
The two senses are one thing. Trust toward the Source and trustworthiness toward one another are the same disposition pointed in two directions, and the canon's compression of the whole ethic — Love ØNE. Love One Another. Love All. — keeps them in one line.
It is load-bearing because the Game has no enforcement. Nothing binds without your own word, and your word is the whole Game. A body with no coercive apparatus is held together by faith in both senses or it is not held together at all.
