Inbreaking And Displacing

The New does not defeat the Old. It arrives, occupies the space, and the Old has nowhere left to remain.

This is the canon's answer to the question every movement eventually asks: how does the new world actually replace the old one? Not by winning an argument, not by taking the building, not by destroying anything. By being present — and presence displaces, the way light displaces dark without ever fighting it. The old arrangement persists exactly where there are not yet enough conduits of the new one. It is not defeated; it is crowded out.

That makes each person a conduit rather than a combatant, and it changes what the work is. A player does not ask how do I defeat this? but where can the New come through me, here, today? Where it comes through, a pocket appears — a stretch of space, time, being, or doing that anyone who enters recognises as good (Islands of Coherence). Those pockets are small at first and they are real, which is more than a plan can say. Each one can be told as a story, and each story is a kind of prophecy: evidence that something greater is possible (Story · Forward-Looking Story).

The strategic consequence is the one the canon builds on. Pockets that appear separately find each other and connect (Islands of coherence to network · Islands, Hubs, Grid), and what began as scattered goodness becomes a fabric that no longer needs the old arrangement to hold it. This is why the work is building rather than opposing, and why Weaving vs. Starting New and Weave, don't delete are not sentimentality but method: what is displaced is not attacked, and what was good in it is carried forward.

The first place anyone can do this is not the world. It is the self, and then the few people at the nearest table (Cell).
