Islands of coherence to network

How separate bodies become a movement: coherent places find one another and link.

In a system coming apart, order does not return everywhere at once. It appears in pockets — small areas that are stable, functional, and unusually coherent while everything around them frays (Islands of Coherence, Coherence). Each such place is already valuable as a demonstration; a working alternative persuades where argument cannot.

But an island, alone, stays an island. The move this names is the linking: islands find one another, open channels, set offers against requests, align timing, and become one another's home — at which point what existed as scattered coherence becomes a body with reach (Connect and Collaborate With Other Cells, Supercell, Requests and offers, Federation).

The swell that results is bottom-up by construction. Nothing is coordinated from a centre; the growth is exponential in the way living things are exponential, because each linked body goes on planting others (Fibonacci Spread, Stigmergy, Emergence). What this produces is the Movement seen from outside, and eventually the topology of hubs and grid that the crossing runs on (The Movement, Islands, Hubs, Grid, The Hub).

The failure mode is either half alone: islands that never link stay charming and local; a network built before there is anything coherent to connect is an empty grid (Circle Coherence, Centralization Of Power).
