The Meta Project

The whole of the work required to reach the Goal — the one project that contains and orders every other.

Its logic is short. Facing what we face, we have Work to do. The total nested holarchy of work required to accomplish the total nested holarchy of goals is the Meta Project. Work at that scale demands a system; a system demands a goal; the Meta Project therefore demands a Meta System. Everything anyone is doing that serves the Goal is somewhere inside it, whether or not anyone has said so.

It is load-bearing because it is what makes local work addable. Without one containing project, a million good efforts stay a million good efforts; with it, each has a place, a neighbour and something above it that it serves. The first level of its breakdown is the twelve Pillars; beneath them the trades and the regions; beneath those the Quests of Cells. That is the ladder by which a season at one table becomes throughput at the scale of a world — and the reason Everything Is A Project is a convention rather than a slogan.

It is not a plan held by anyone. No centre writes it; it is populated from the bottom by what bodies actually undertake, and guided from the top only by a shared Vision, strategy and values. Worksite Earth is its site, and the work is not a metaphor: air, water, soil, and everything else that must be true for life to flourish here.
