Actor Charter

The slow, plain-text document in an Actor's own home: what it is, what it can do, what it needs, what it is trusted with, and what it is owed.

A weekly card says what someone is doing. A charter says who they are for this season. It holds identity and purpose; the gifts brought and what they cost; what the Actor requires in order to act at all; the roles held this season with their band of authority and a paired reading of trust — what is felt and what is counted; pointers into the record for commitments, never duplicates of them; and a growing edge, the next stretch, written by whoever walks beside (Roles, Trust, The Record, The Zone Of Optimum Development).

One shape, three homes. A person's charter is their standing card with these fields added — there is never a second record of a self. A Cell's sits with the Cell. An agent's is its own file. Keeping one shape across all three is what lets a body ask the same question of a person, a group, and a companion without treating any of them as the same kind of thing (Charter, Cell+, Agent).

It is load-bearing because it is the slow document beside the fast ones, and the two must never be merged. Readiness changes hourly and must expire; commitments change weekly and must close; who someone is changes by season and should not be rewritten under pressure. Conflating any two of these stales the one that most needed to stay current (Condition, Work Card).

Its discipline is that it is written by the Actor, in the Actor's own home, in plain words anyone can read — and that it points rather than copies. A charter that duplicates the record will drift from it, and a drifted charter is worse than none, because people will believe it (Provenance, An address).
