Mastery
The full integration of knowledge, virtue, and skill in service of ØNE and All — recognized by a body that has watched, never claimed.
Three things have to arrive together or it is not mastery. Knowledge: you know how the thing works and why. Skill: you can do it, under pressure, when it counts. Virtue: you can be trusted with it. Any two without the third produce something the world has plenty of — the knowledgeable who cannot act, the capable who cannot be trusted, the well-meaning who cannot deliver. The integration is the whole point, and it is why mastery is a matter of character and not only of competence.
Recognition follows embodiment; it never confers it. Belts are granted long after observation, by the body of practitioners and elders who have watched: the Sovereign has already become what the belt names, and the ceremony declares what is. Meeting requirements never confers a belt — a record shows what you can do, and only a witness shows that you did it when it mattered. Belts cannot be bought, claimed, or self-declared, and a belt granted prematurely or politically simply loses its weight. The seven are White, Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue, Brown, Black; they are degrees of one continuous progression, held as verbs — a Sovereign is green-belting in some Way at some moment — and Black names the capacity to actually begin the real work, the doorway rather than the destination.
Mastery is multi-domain by design. Each guild stewards belts in its own Way; the universal Way of the ØNE Body is what every part must master for the Body to function as one, and walking The 144 Gates of Initiation earns its Blue Belt. Above Black, the stripes count Black Belts held in other Ways, and the fifth marks mastery — because no one is recognized a Master in a single Way. Levels diverge across a person's Ways, and the divergence is honoured rather than flattened.
It does not finish. The Sacred Ascent has no terminal point; the master continues a student; the belt names a stage and the cultivation continues.
