Universal and Eternal

The canon's two-word mark for what holds everywhere and always — the deepest reality, which stands above space and time rather than inside them.

The pair is a convention as much as a claim. When the canon writes universal and eternal, it is marking a particular altitude: not widely true, not long-lasting, but that which is not conditioned by where or when at all. Universal covers every place, every people, every scale. Eternal covers every time — and not merely a very long duration but a standing outside duration (SpaceTime · Time · Chronos · Kairos · Reality).

It earns its place because almost everything else in the canon is explicitly not this. The plans, the structures, the words, the instruments, this Field — all of it is Current Best Understanding, made in a moment, expected to be superseded (Everything Is Current Best Understanding · LIØNSBERG Is A Prototype, Not The Eternal Essence). So a phrase that says this one is different is doing serious work, and using it carelessly is how a canon ossifies. It belongs to very few things: ØNE, the Logos, the law of love, the Goal's why (The Logic Of Love · ØNE Vision and Intent · Creator's Intent).

Two disciplines keep the mark honest. A claim to be universal is not a licence to impose — what is true everywhere is still met differently in each place, and a body that reasons from universality to uniformity has made a mistake the canon names repeatedly (General Pattern, Specific Application · Cross-Cultural Pattern Translation · Meta Unity of Meta Diversity · Sovereignty At Every Scale). Practically, the phrase is a question to ask of any page that uses it: is this really above space and time, or is it merely ours and important? Most things are the second, and saying so costs nothing (We Do Not Know · Provenance · A Word on Words).
