Wealth

The abundance of all that is needed to provision and enable flourishing for all present and future generations of life.

Wealth is a capacity, not a pile. It is measured by what a body can provision — food, shelter, health, learning, beauty, safety, time — for everyone inside it and for those not yet born. By that measure a person with a large account and no one to call is poor, and a Circle with little money, deep trust, and a working commons is wealthy. The test is not stored quantity but living capacity.

This is why wealth is counted in six capitals together rather than one: living, social, human, intellectual, built, financial. Counted together, no one can grow rich in money while going bankrupt in the things that matter more, and the trade that looks profitable on the financial line shows its true cost on the living one. Counted separately, the financial line always wins, because it is the only one with a number ready to hand. The six-capital discipline is not sentiment; it is the arithmetic that makes extraction visible.

Wealth also behaves differently from stock. It is generated in circulation and decays in hoarding: what is held out of Flow stops producing anything, and what is shared through a Commons compounds, because each contributor draws on more than they put in. A tool owned by one is used a few hours a week; the same tool held in common is used most of the week and pays for itself in a season. The pattern holds at every scale — which is the whole reason Voluntary Tithing resources a commons rather than a treasury, and why Fostering Ecosystemic Resource Flows reads a federation as a circulatory system rather than a bank.

The old inversion that must be named: Extraction Of Wealth is not wealth creation. It is the transfer of capacity from many to few, and the totals can rise while the body is dying. The asset lock and Compressed Pay Ratios exist because wealth without a ceiling reliably becomes Usury by another name.
