Value

Throughput of The Goal — and nothing else.

Redefining Value, and separating it from money and from activity, is one of the foundations this whole field rests on. In an ordinary economy, value is whatever someone will pay for; that definition is what allowed vast industries to grow rich while the world they depend on was consumed. In a system with a stated Goal, Value takes a precise meaning: what moves the Goal. What does not move it is Waste, however profitable and however busy.

Value still takes many forms — a product, a service, knowledge, access, capability, a repaired relationship, wisdom — and it need not be monetary. Much of it goes unnoticed, and what is not noticed cannot be recognised, valued, or exchanged. So a real part of the work is making value visible and countable across several kinds of capital at once: living, social, human, intellectual, built, and financial, counted together so that no one grows rich in money while going bankrupt in the things that matter more.

It is load-bearing because it is the hinge between the spiritual and the operational halves of the field. Love and Goodness say what is worth wanting; Value says what is worth doing, measurably, this week. Without the hinge, the values stay sentimental and the delivery system optimises for whatever it can count.

In play, Value is the test a Quest is chosen by and the reason a body can decline work that pays. Resources are applied only to value-producing, aligned Quests that stack up to throughput of the Goal — and naming the Waste is not an insult but the ordinary first step of improvement.
