Group Stories

Each group saying, in its own words and keeping it current, who it is, where it is, how it got there, where it is going, who it is going with, and why — and broadcasting that to everyone else.

It answers a problem that gets worse as a movement grows: bodies that cannot describe themselves cannot be coordinated with. Not because anyone is hiding anything, but because there is nothing to read. Another group wanting to help, avoid duplication, or offer something has no way to tell whether it should (Communication Debt, Interoperability, The face (a holon's first page)).

The six questions are the whole instrument, and they are the same six a person answers for themselves — which is what makes the form learnable once and usable at every size (Who We Are · Where We Are · How We Got Here · Where We Are Going · Who We Are Going With · Why, Our Story, One tool, every scale).

Two disciplines make the difference between this and a page nobody reads. Refreshed — a story written once and left is worse than none, because it misinforms with authority (The Season Sheet, Drift, Honesty about time). And broadcast — sent outward into the shared space rather than kept on the body's own wall, since the whole purpose is that others can find it (Share the Stories, The Board, The Turn).

What it produces, beyond coordination, is the thing a movement cannot fake: the composite. A great many groups each telling their own true story, woven together, is what makes one shared story real rather than proclaimed from a centre (Forward-Looking Story, The Golden Thread, All Scales Of Chapters, Your Story Woven Into Meta Story).

No template exists in the source, which is the main thing standing between this and use.
