A scripture is a text written for people not yet born. That is what distinguishes it from a document: it is composed to survive translation, copying, loss of context, and the death of everyone who understood the original circumstances, and it is meant to be read aloud, argued with, and lived from rather than merely consulted. Every genuine tradition holds some, and the canon's posture toward them is that every culture has sacred wisdom and each is an essential voice in the chorus.
It is load-bearing here because this body writes with the same intent and must therefore carry the same hazard consciously. The LIØNSBERG Voice aims for a text that a Circle can read around a fire and a being from another century could receive with recognition. But the moment a text is treated as finished, The Golden Calf is close: a visible thing replacing the invisible Source, a rendering mistaken for the referent. The canon answers with its own disciplines — everything below the Goal is Current Best Understanding, the Story that can be told is not THE Story, LIØNSBERG Is A Prototype, Not The Eternal Essence, and truth to ØNE, errors to us.
In play the practical form is reading. The Daily Way names sacred reading from any genuine tradition as part of its deeper tier — read not as scholarship but as living dialogue between the Spirit alive in the reader and the Spirit alive in the words. A Cell may read together from whatever its members hold sacred; the Pattern does not require one text and does not supply one.
The honest position is uncomfortable and worth keeping uncomfortable. This corpus is written in a scriptural register, states that it is not scripture, and asks to be improved by anyone who plays with it. Whether a text can hold both is not settled; holding both deliberately is the current attempt.
