The LIØNSBERG Rules

A rule of life short enough to be said in one breath and remembered across generations: there is only one rule — everything is ØNE; and do the wise right thing, at the wise right time, with the wise right people, to progressively realise the Goal.

Bodies that lasted centuries all had one of these — a short transmissible text, readable aloud, carried by memory rather than by archive. That is the office this fills. Not a constitution, not a code of conduct: the thing a person could carry out of a burning building and begin again from (The Golden Seed, Foundational Literature).

The first rule is a statement about what is: everything is ØNE. From it, the corpus claims, the rest can be discerned in spirit, sensed energetically, and derived by reason, in any time or place — which is what makes the rule a seed rather than a slogan (ØNE, Ultimate Unity, InterExistence, The ØNE That Unites The Many, By Definition).

The second rule is the daily compass, and it is four discernments in one sentence. The wise right thing — what is actually wise and right here, spirit, sense and reason together (Spontaneous Wise Right Action, Discernment). At the wise right time — is it now, or is there a moment still to come (Kairos, Just in time, Honesty about time). With the wise right people — with whom is this to be done, since most failures are the right work with the wrong company (Resonance, The First Few, Circle). To progressively realise the Goal — is this moving the thing forward or spinning (The Goal, Throughput, Critical Path).

Two rules are claimed to be sufficient: a Circle holding only these can still run the whole Pattern, and everything else — the language, the playbook, the lexicon — is expansion and refinement of them (The Rules of The Game, Rules of Participation).

That gives a test worth having. Does a proposed piece of canon survive being compressed into these two and re-derived from them? If yes, it belongs to the Pattern. If not, it is opinion, and the corpus should say so (The forging criterion, Prune, Every Defect Is A Gift).
