The Calling of the Ecclesia

Being asked, by name, by people who know you, to lead — the door that gathers workers where an invitation gathered watchers.

Ekklēsia is an old Greek word for the governing assembly: those called out of their homes into the public square to decide and to do the work of the city. Only later did the word narrow to mean something merely religious. The Ecclesia is that first sense recovered — a working assembly of the people, called out by the people. It is not an audience, not a membership, and not a following. It is the body that does the work.

Two doors stand side by side. Through the open door comes everyone: any person may take up their voice, resonate, contribute whatever they can, and thereby hold a living voice in Governance and a living stake in Value. No one is turned away. Through the narrow door come the called: out of the hundred people you know and trust most, you name the two or three you would most trust to lead your neighbours through what is coming. When three trusted people name the same person, that person receives The Invitation — carried in person, by hand, by the ones who named them. It is load-bearing because of what it cures. A body designed to have no centre can still be read as one, and then everyone who arrives waits politely for the centre to begin. Being chosen as the worker is the whole content of the message; there is nobody else it could be waiting for. So the calling is both the way the thing spreads and the inoculation against the disease it spreads into — and what it surfaces is not a self-appointed elite but The First Three Percent as the other ninety-seven name them, roughly The 300 in a community of ten thousand, identified by their own neighbours. The calling also persists: given how loud and wounded the world is, a person may need to be asked many times, by different voices in different seasons, before they truly hear. Nobody is written off for not answering yet.

From the calling, self-governance grows outward by structural triggers rather than dates — the markers serve the work, never the reverse. The first 55 to 144 who stand nominate five to ten respected representatives to seed The System Wide Master Planning Group and Process; as the next cycles complete and some two hundred to a thousand stand, The LIØNSBERG General Assembly convenes to refine and ratify the plan of the whole; and the new vision is then carried to everyone. Those thresholds are the Strategy's own 2026 figures — design estimates, not measurements, and deliberately carrying no date at all.
