Current Best Articulation
What has been put into words, written, drawn, or named — the rendered form of an understanding, and always smaller than it.
Three layers nest. Reality is ineffable and never fully grasped. Current Best Understanding is what is presently grasped in lived experience and intuitive knowing, and it falls short of the Reality. Current Best Articulation is what has been rendered into shareable form, and it falls short of the Understanding. Every page here, including this one, is the third layer.
Naming the third layer separately does real work. It stops two common category errors. The first is mistaking the Articulation for the Reality — the dogma trap, where a rendering hardens into the thing itself. The second is quieter and more corrosive in a community: mistaking articulation quality for understanding depth. A person whose words are rough may hold a deeper grasp than one whose words are polished; a polished articulation may render something only partly understood. Fluency is not authority.
It is load-bearing for how this body treats its own texts. If the Articulation is the most external of the three, then improving it is ordinary maintenance rather than heresy, and a better rendering of the same understanding is simply a better tool. It is also why Provenance and status belong on every page: a reader needs to know which articulation they are holding and how much weight it will bear.
In play, the discipline is short. Hold every articulation as current best. Trust the understanding beneath it, knowing the words never fully render it. Honour both gaps. Keep refining the words toward the understanding, and the understanding toward the Reality.
