The New Covenant incorporated by reference

How one enters something that is not written: each person writes their own constitution, and in it takes the shared covenant into their own — so the covenant binds by being adopted rather than by being signed.

The New Covenant is held by its own sources as ultimately unwritten — mediated by Spirit rather than by a text, and running through what is wise, right, true and good wherever that has been written. Which raises an obvious practical problem: an unwritten thing cannot be signed, and a thing nobody signs cannot be relied on (Covenant, Agreement, A word given is a word kept).

The mechanism proposed is borrowed from ordinary drafting and is elegant. A person first writes their own constitution and field of agreements — what they are for, how they will act, what they will not do (The LIØNSBERG Constitution, Field of Agreements, Charter, Behavioral Code). And then incorporates the shared covenant into it by reference: my agreement includes that one, as it stands and as it is refined.

Three things this buys. The covenant is entered rather than imposed — nobody is bound who has not written it into their own, which is the whole of what voluntary means (Consent, Primacy Of Consent, Voluntary Association). It stays alive — because the reference is to a living understanding rather than to a fixed text, a refinement reaches everyone who adopted it without anyone re-signing anything (Everything Is Current Best Understanding, The Codex Is Never Finished). And it puts the person first: the individual agreement is primary and the shared one is taken up into it, rather than the person being an entry on somebody's roll (Sovereignty, The Sovereign, Agency, not ownership).

Which is also the order the sources insist on for joining anything. An individual story, identity, constitution and field of agreements come before joining a body, on the ground that a strong tribe requires strong individuals (There Is No Solo Phase, Form a Cell, The Three-Year Formation).

Stated once, as mechanism, with no instrument. No template for a personal constitution exists, nothing states what the reference actually points at, and nothing says what happens when a person's own agreements and the shared one conflict — which, in an unwritten covenant, they eventually will (Gaps Not Yet Closed, Meaningful Objection, Transforming Divergence).
